There are so many reasons to visit a coffee shop.

You can get work done.

It’s a great meeting or date spot.

You can support a local business that may be giving back to the community.

It’s also where you can get an array of amazing espresso-based or coffee beverages, tastes flavors from various parts of the world with one tiny sip, and get a little jolt of energy too.

I love coffee–in fact, I used to be a barista. My love for coffee has not diminished as the years have gone by. I also love Chicago and am so inspired by all of the amazing and talented coffee shops that exist in this sprawling city.

My New Year’s resolution is to visit 52 unique coffee shops this year (meaning, I can’t go to Intelligentsia 52 times–though I think I pretty much already do that on a yearly basis anyway? Ha!).

I am by no means that pretentious about coffee, so you won’t hear me talk about flavor notes and mouthfeel or whatever. This is just my homage to all the great Chicago coffee shops out there.
